The uniquely-shaped body uses basswood, offering a simple balanced tone that’s the perfect platform for fat pickups. The shape is surprisingly ergonomic, with great upper-fret access for soloing and high-register chords.
The neck uses a Maple Scarf construction with a set-thru joint. This helps counter the subtle Basswood & H/S pickup combination with extra top-end brightness, great for lead playing clarity.
Hardware & Electronics
The Premier Bedford comes with 2 Duncan-designed pickups; an HB-101 humbucker in the bridge and HB-102 single-coil stack in the neck. This, combines with a coil-split and 3-way switch, offers an array of slick tones. Perfect for everything from punk-rock to glittering pop-funk.
Chrome hardware is used from top to bottom. This gives the Premier Bedford a reserved but classy look, and the Rotomatic Stairstep tuners & stopbar configuration ensure tuning stability and reliable intonation. This is a true workhorse instrument that’s also out to make a statement!
